Encumbrances. What they are and how to find them on your TitleSafe report.
Find out whether or not there are encumbrances on your Title.
What are encumbrances?
An encumbrance gives someone else the right to use your property for a specific purpose even though they’re not the owner. For example, a registered lease agreement.
Easements
An example of an encumbrance is an easement. For example, powerlines or a shared driveway. If you want to build over an easement, you are legally obliged to get permission from person or institution who encumbered your property.
